It is a known fact that Shah Rukh Khan ’s upcoming film Raees stars Pakistani actress Mahira Khan as the female lead. There were several rumours making rounds that the actress will be replaced owing to the current situations in the country with Pakistan. But, recently co-producer Farhan Akhtar clarified that Mahira has not been replaced and she stays in the movie as she has already completed shooting for her part.
Talking about Mahira’s presence in Raees , Farhan said, “What can I say? We’ve completed her shooting. The film is ready for release. If we had shot the film after the recent developments (the deterioration in Indo-Pak relations) we would have certainly not worked with any artiste from Pakistan.”
When asked about the 5 crore penalty issue, the talented actor-filmmaker said, “How we choose to show our solidarity with our brave jawaans is up to us. I don’t think anyone outside the Indian government is authorized to brief us on how to deal with our conscience.”
