Sonam Kapoor is no doubt a talented actress and she proved it by winning a National Award. Her performance in ‘Neerja’ was highly acclaimed and since then, she is on movie signing spree. The 32-year-old actress, who has back to back movies to release, wishes to direct a film, but her acting work doesn’t let her go behind the cameras. Sonam told a leading daily, “I do want to direct, but fortunately, I keep getting a lot of work. I have four releases this year. Whenever I do get time to breathe, I will start working on the subject.’’
She further added, “Currently, it’s difficult to give up such good work and take a decision. I would need to take a year off. So it’s a huge sacrifice, and I love acting; it’s my passion. I would love to work with Alia (Bhatt), Swara (Bhaskar) and Bebo (Kareena Kapoor Khan).”
Sonam has a jam-packed schedule this year, she first has ‘Pad Man’ opposite Akshay Kumar, which is reportedly slated to release on 9th February, then she has sister, Rhea Kapoor’s ‘Veere Di Wedding’, then in later June, she will appear in Sanjay Dutt’s biopic and by the end of 2018, we might see her sharing the screen for the first time with father, Anil Kapoor in Shelly Chopra’s ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’ opposite Rajkummar Rao.
Looking at her busy schedule, we can understand filmmaking will take a lot of time of hers. For the uninitiated, Sonam earlier mentioned that she has some plans to make a movie based on a novel.
