Imtiaz Ali and Ekta Kapoor come together for Laila Majnu
This is the first time when Ekta Kapoor is joining hands with Imtiaz Ali for a film.
Two leading storytellers of Bollywood, Ekta Kapoor, and Imtiaz Ali, have joined hands to recreate the epic love story of Laila Majnu. Titled Laila Majnu, the film will arrive in cinemas on 4th May 2018.
Sharing a photograph of herself along with Ali, elated Ekta wrote on the micro-blogging site Twitter. “Excited to recreate the epic love story, Laila Majnu with master storyteller Imtiaz Ali. Balaji Motion Picture, Imtiaz Ali’s Laila Majnu. Laila Majnu on May 4,” she tweeted.
Her production house, Balaji Motion Pictures, also shared a tweet. “Some love stories never die... They get retold by passionate storytellers. Presenting the teaser poster of Ekta Kapoor and Imtiaz Ali’s Laila Majnu. Releasing on May 4.”
Imtiaz Ali and Ekta Kapoor are set to launch two newcomers with their new venture. Talking about the same, Ekta said to a daily, “this story has given us a chance to launch new talent. We are wrapping up the shoot fast. I’m excited to retell this classic love story with a fresh spin."
