Critically acclaimed director Onir, who last helmed ‘Shab’ in 2017, is coming up with a romantic-drama, ‘Kuchh Bheege Alfaaz’. Onir, a National Award-winning director, who is known for his unconventional films is for the first time making an out an out romantic flick. The film is a modern-day love story in the age of social media, as seen through two primary characters – RJ Alfaaz, played by debutant actor Zain Khan Durrani and meme artist - Archana, played by Geetanjali Thapa. In a world of pings, likes, tweets, shares, and comments, 2 strangers connect over a miss-dial and Whatsapp their way into each other’s hearts, safely hidden behind digital screens. But will the emojis translate to emotions when they reveal their truth to one another –forms the crux of the story.
The movie is made under the banner of Yoodlee Films, which is a product of India’s oldest music label, Saregama. ‘Kuchh Bheege Alfaaz’ is the second film under this banner after the hugely critically acclaimed first film, ‘Ajji’, which released last year. Helmed by Onir, who in the past has made award-winning films like ‘My Brother Nikhil’ and ‘I am’, the romantic-drama is scheduled for a release this Valentine weekend on 16thFebruary.
