Legendary actor Anupam Kher honored with the highest Asian Award

Actor Anupam Kher was honored at the third edition of The Asian Awards in London along with Sir Ben Kingsley at the Grosvenor House Hotel yesterday. The talented actor was honored with the Outstanding Achievement in Cinema. Kher, who was a pivotal part of the western film 'Silver Linings' is a proud ambassador for Asians in world cinema. He was featured with famous Hollywood actor Robert DeNiro and Bradly Cooper in the film. Kher got this highest Asian honor along with Sir Ben Kingsley, Nocole Scherzinger and Hollywood legend Bruce Lee.

The coveted Fellowship Award was given to Sir Kingsley for his outstanding five decade career. Global martial arts and action icon, Bruce Lee was honored with the prestigious Founders Award, for his impact and influence on western cinema, and also to mark the 40th anniversary of his death. The ceremony was hosted by the masterminds behind the London 2012 Olympics , Lord Sebastian Coe.

Feeling grateful, Kher said that he is truly humbled and honored for being awarded The Asian Award for his work as an actor. As an actor, he does and want to make people laugh, cry and pursue many other emotions with his art. According to the great actor, the achievement of any actor at the end of the day is when the audience understands what he wants to convey. And the best part according to him is the spectrum of the awards is broader and the awards are not only in the category of cinema but other fields too. He also said that it was an honor for him to get the award with Sir Ben Kingsley. He expressed that it really makes him proud.

The other Asian big personalities like Sachin Tendulkar, Muttiah Muralitharan, Asha Bhosle , Jay Sean, A. R. Rahman and Ratan Tata are Asian award honorees as well .
