Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures’ lipstick rebel campaign against the patriarchy has worked well with the masses. Just a few hours after the makers started the lipstick campaign, in which one has to flaunt their lipstick and show the support towards women rights, went viral. Girls and women across the globe displayed their support by posting their selfies. Even some of the B-town ladies also join hands along with the cast of the movie. The rebellion is against the patriarchal society and its orthodox norms that do not let a women dream, fantasize or sometimes even think and do things at her will.
Now, it got further a boost when the men got out there in support of this campaign. It is awesome when men understand and extend their support to women without fearing the society. Actors Arjun Kapoor, Naseeruddin Shah and TV actor Karan Patel posted their Lipstick selfies. “The official handle of the film posted: Why should girls have all the fun? Here's to creating an equal world together! #LipstickRebellion #MenForLipstick. In cinemas 21 July!”
The film faced several road blocks for its release in India due to censorship issues. It got its share of publicity due to all the controversy the CBFC created over its release. The film, however, has received several international accolades in film festivals. Lipstick Under My Burka talks about stories of women living in a small town, exploring their desires and fantasies. The much talked about film stars Konkona Sen Sharma, Ratna Pathak, Aahana Kumrah and Plabita Borthkur among others. It is all set to release on July 21, 2017.
