Manoj Bajpai to be honoured with Dadasaheb Phalke Award for Aligarh

The talented actor Manoj Bajpai is known for his impaccable performances in the films. The actor has always garnered praises for his acting skills and now, he has one more reason to rejoice. As per the report, Manoj Bajpai will be honoured with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award of this year for his performance in the movie Aligarh .
The critically-acclaimed film Aligarh is a heart touching tale of a 64 year old professor Dr. Srinivas Ramchandra Siras. This homosexual professor was detained from his job owing to his sexual orientation. The movie has won awards at various national and international film festivals.
Talking about this, Manoj Bajpai stated "I am honoured that I am going to get the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. It is a wonderful feeling. I would like to dedicate this award to Siras for his immense struggle in his journey to prove the world about the true meaning of love. A special thanks to our director Hansal Mehta for his massive courage to showcase this story, to my co-star Rajkummar Rao and to the entire team of Aligarh . I am thankful to my audience and critics for their tremendous appreciation and love."
On the occasion of 147th Dadasaheb Phalke Jayanti, the Dadasaheb Phalke Awards 2016 will take place at a Mumbai-based hotel.
