Here comes the season of festivals and it is definitely going to turn on the mood of people to splurge on food, films and entertainment! Many premium-budget films will be knocking the door of box office this season. The very first contender in the list of biggies is, Shah Rukh Khan - Deepika Padukone starrer ' Chennai Express ' by Rohit Shetty . The other fishes in the sea include ' Once Upon Ay Time In Mumbai Dobaara! ', ' Satyagraha ', ' Madras Cafe ', ' Krrish 3 ' and ' Dhoom 3 '.

As the rumor mills generated a buzz that the ticket prices are set to fuel by 40% in Mumbai on the festive eve of Eid followed by an extended weekend. However, the latest news said that the audience don't need to shell out a huge amount of cash from their pockets for watching a movie this festive season, as the ticket prices are going to remain intact at certain places and can witness minimal hike. Most likely, the filmmakers heighten the ticket rates during the festive season, however, the scenario is slightly different this time.

Although, the ticket costs in theaters of Delhi and NCR increase, they will be increasing just by 5 to 10%, because they are monitored as in a union territory. In Mumbai, the audience have to splurge 40% on weekdays and 20% on weekends for enjoying their favorite movie show. The business head of DT cinemas, Anant Verma stated that they will not be increasing ticket rates during Eid and they will follow the Delhi Licensing Department norms. As per these norms, only twice a year can see increased prices of tickets, Verma said. He also added that recently, during the super hit film ' Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani ', the price was boosted by them and they are not going to increase it now.

Paying ability of the movie-goer is directly proportionate to the star-cast of the film and based on distributors' requests, the ticket rates will be finalized, revealed by Wave Cinemas corporate head, Yogesh Raizada. Only 5 to 10% hike is visible as of now, he added.

A cinema hall applies for Rs. 300 as ticket rate for a blockbuster, while for low-budget flick, it can be Rs. 150. For a lengthy film, it can quote Rs. 250. The ticket cost is accordingly evaluated after the releasing of the movie. The theaters can increase the ticket rates only twice a year, as per the rule. This rise in price decision has to be supported by a logical reason, such as inflation, electricity bills, food prices and manpower.
