Music Maestro A R Rahman Composes London Olympics' Opening Song

The music maestro A R Rahman is once again set to team up with the Hollywood director Danny Boyle. This time it is for composing a song for the London Olympics' opening ceremony, which is to be held from July 27 to August 12, 2012.

The music maestro A. R. Rahman is once again set to team up with the Hollywood director Danny Boyle . This time it is for composing a song for the London Olympics' opening ceremony, which is to be held from July 27 to August 12, 2012.

In the past, A. R. Rahman has worked with Danny Boyle in the Oscar-winning film ' Slumdog Millionaire ' and '127 Hours'. He has revealed that the Olympic track will be a Punjabi song celebrating Indian influence in Britain.

The music maestro posted on Facebook: "Clarifying the report on the Olympics track I am composing... It's a track in Punjabi celebrating the Indian influence in the UK." He has added, "It's a part of a medley in the Olympics opening ceremony, according to Danny Boyle 's creative wishes!"

Reportedly, 'Naanthaan ungappanda', from Kamal Haasan 's 1980 film 'Ram Lakshman' and composed by the music composer Ilaiyaraaja will also a part of the Olympics' opening ceremony.
