R. Madhavan to essay boxer in 'Laal'

The Tamil-Hindi star R. Madhavan will play a boxer in the upcoming biopic, which is based on Mohammed Ali's life to some extent.

The Tamil-Hindi filmstar R. Madhavan celebrated his 44th birthday on Sunday. He had a small party with his close friends. The actor is in Los Angeles, where he is preparing for his next venture. As per the reports, R. Madhavan will star in a Hindi-Tamil-bi-lingual as a boxer. The film is titled 'Laal' and it's said to be based on Mohammed Ali's life. This will be directorial venture of Sudha Kongara.

For this film, R. Madhavan is taking training in Los Angeles and he has lost 15 kilos of his weight for his role. He also said that his whole body structure and body language has undergone a drastic change.

It seems the season of boxers' biopics is here. Priyanka Chopra is also busy in shooting for Mary Kom's biopic. On the other hand, in Karan Malhotra 's desi version of Hollywood outing 'Warriors', Akshay Kumar and Siddharth Malhotra will portray pugilistic siblings.
