Director Onir's 'Shab' is the closing film at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2017!
Kicked off on 10th August with much fanfare, The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2017 comes to an end with Onir’s smartly assembled film Shab. The festival was started with Alankrita Shrivastava’s black-comedy film Lipstick Under My Burkha as the opening film and ended with Shab. Starring seasoned actress Raveena Tandon and debutant Ashish Bisht in lead roles, the movie arrived in cinemas on 14th July and opened to overwhelming critical response.
Shab is produced by Sanjay Suri and Onir and revolves around some individuals seeking happiness and solace in wrong people of a metropolis. The premise of the film rang true with the city based audience and generated quite a positive buzz. Raveena Tandon, who played the female lead in the movie, garnered a lot of praises for her sizzling performance. The movie introduced a brilliant talent to the industry in the form of newcomer Ashish Bisht who swept the audience along with his charming and endearing act.
The screening of the film Shab was attended by Raveena Tandon, Onir, Mitu Bhowmick Lange founder and curator of Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2017 and other dignitaries.
