Ronit Roy to essay a stern father in '2 States'

The television heartthrob Ronit Roy lastly essayed the role of a strict father in the critically acclaimed flick \'Udaan\' starring Rajat Barmecha in lead role. And now, Ronit will play somewhat a similar role in his next, \'2 States\'. The movie is inspired by the novel with the same title penned down by Chetan Bhagat.

Ronit Roy attested this piece of news update by mentioning that he will be portraying a character with negative shades as father to the lead actor Arjun Kapoor. His role as father will be counted as a guest appearance. Initially, Ronit was reluctant to play this role, however after the persistent calls from the filmmaker Karan Johar himself, Ronit finally agreed to be a part of \'2 States\'.

The movie is a narrative about a Tamil girl, Ananya and a North Indian boy Krish, who fall for each other and their future journey full of challenges lying ahead. Produced by Karan Johar and Sajid Nadiadwala, \'2 States\' is the directorial venture of Abhishek Varman. The film is slated to release on April 18, 2014.
