'Rowdy Rathore' sequel on the cards

The 2012 blockbuster 'Rowdy Rathore' starring Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha bagged enough claps and whistles from the audience apart from tasting delicious success at the box office. Akshay Kumar once again proved himself as the action king in this flick as well as wooed the viewers with his quirky punchlines. Going by the latest news update, the sequel of this super hit action-drama is on the cards!

The filmmakers Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Shabina Khan decided to team up to produce the next installment of 'Rowdy Rathore', reportedly. The sequel will be helmed by Prabhu Deva, who directed the original one. While Akshay Kumar has finalised as the male lead, the name of the female lead is yet to lock in. A close source revealed that Bhansali will start making 'Rowdy Rathore 2' by the mid of next year. The makers were supposed to make a sequel to this film since it became the elite member of 100 crore club, added the source. Bhansali's another ambitious project 'Bajirao Mastani' will start rolling in October, as stated by the source.
