Nowadays Deepa Mehta is busy with the promotions of her next movie based on Salman Rushdie\'s Novel \"Midnight\'s Children. And who else could be more suitable to accompany her, other than the writer himself. Salman, who was always interested in movies wanted to get involved this time as the story was filmed over 32 years of writing the novel. Set in the colonial India, it is the story of an average common man who has seen the partition period and life thereafter. It also narrates the story of some strong women characters. Deepa always felt that the novel was quite cinematic and had a scope of filming. Deepa was bowled over by Rushdie\'s generous nature when the author permitted her to shoot it and showed trust on her. Rushdie thought that Deepa knows her job well and that he had nothing to do with direction. He kept him aloof from pre-production and shoots. Rushdie was involved in post-production and concluded that the real movies are made in the editing room. He has liked the rushes of the movie. Rushdie opined that a book is far more descriptive but for a film you have to take the clearest line to set the right emotion. The film has been clearly passed by sensor board but one of the shots has been blurred. The movie will release in February.
