Saina Nehwal biopic to start rolling in September, confirms director Amol Gupte
The director is planning to shoot the film at real locations to maintain authenticity.

Not long ago, the whole industry circuit was buzzing with the news that the upcoming biopic on Saina Nehwal has been put on the backburner as the makers were not very pleased with Shraddha Kapoor and were looking for her replacement. However, rubbishing all such rumours, director Amole Gupte has now informed that he has been busy preparing for the shoot and his film will mount the shooting floors in the second half of the year.
“We start shooting in September. In December, Shraddha had travelled to Hyderabad to train at Saina’s mentor Pullela Gopichand’s badminton academy and continued with her training in Mumbai. I’ve been working on this film for over two years and it’s important to me. I’m looking forward to September,” Amole told a leading daily.
"We will be shooting in studios and real locations, including several stadiums as we are chronicling Saina’s life story as authentically as possible,” adds the director.
