Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt starrer 'Shaandaar' has received 'U/A' certificate by the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
Two words have been ordered out by the censor board. One is 'ghanta', which implies either 'zilch' or the male private part. The word that was ordered out is 'maal'. A close source revealed the need for this verbal cuts by saying that "We were told ghanta is vulgar. We use it in everyday speech. So we don't think it's vulgar. But I guess the censor board has its own wisdom to follow. We were also told to remove 'maal' which they said is a derogatory way to refer to women. We agree. But we've heard the word being used for women in numerous films." As per the buzz, a visual cut was also to be done in a song.
'Shaandaar' will release on October 23.
