The Dream Girl Hema Malini of Bollywood, too noticed his talent and potential to be a great actor and gave him break in her directorial debut film 'Dil Aashna Hai'. However, due to the delay in the release of this film, his film 'Deewana' got released which was directed by late Raj Kanwar.

He was born on November 2, 1965 and is also known as Shah Rukh Khan and SRK. Some people also call him 'Baadshah' and King Khan due to his film 'Baadshah', 'Baazigar' etc.

He was recently in news due to his film 'Ra.One' and IPL5.

Failures

Some of his films failed at the box office miserably. One of his most famous films 'Ra.One' which one was made with a huge budget did not do well at the box office and many trade people talked negatively about it. He also failed during 4 seasons of IPL when his team Kolkata Knight Riders didn't perform well and could never win the final trophy. During the first 3 years, his team played very badly in the tournament. However, in the fourth season his team did better than before.

He hosted the famous game show 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' season 3 but it was not so successful. His show 'Kya Aap Panchvi Pass Se Tez Hain' also flopped.

Achievements

He achieved Filmfare Best Actor Award eight times which made him most awarded actor of all time (apart from the legend Dilip Kumar).

He received Padma Shri award from the Government of India in 2005 for his outstanding contribution in Indian Cinema.

His film 'Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge' set a record of longest running film in Indian Cinema breaking the record of 'Sholay' of Amitabh Bachchan.

He also founded his production house named as Dreamz Unlimited Production Company.

He was married to Gauri Chibber (Now Gauri Khan) (who is a Hindu) on 25th October, 1991 and they have two children. Their son is Aryan who was born in 1997 and daughter is Suhana who was born in 2000.

Controversies

He remained in controversies due to various reasons. Recently he was in news and controversy because he had slapped Shirish Kunder. Before this matter could have faded, he again came into controversy for misbehaving in Wankhede Stadium with security officials after the end of an IPL 5 match. As punishment he was earlier banned for lifetime from entering into that stadium but after that the ban was reduced to 5 years. He also came in news for smoking publicly in a Cricket Stadium for which he was sent court notice to appear in the court.

Trade people also say that SRK and Salman Khan do not want to confront each other and avoid each other every time.

One of the best achievements of SRK was the win of IPL5 tournament. His team won the final match and received the trophy. This win made him so happy that he almost forgot all his failures. And now he has completed 20 years in Hindi film industry and his fans are celebrating this occasion.
