Siddharth Roy Kapur sets up his own banner; signs Aamir Khan for maiden movie!

Since the time producer Siddharth Roy Kapur stepped down from the position of MD of the Indian division of the Walt Disney group, which also owns UTV Motion Pictures , speculations have been rife that he is planning to float his own banner. Well, all speculations have turned out to be true as Kapur has laid the foundation of the banner RKF with the announcement of three mega-budgeted films. The biggest one of them all will be the reported biopic on astronaut Rakesh Sharma toplined by none other than Aamir Khan . The much talked about project will be jointly produced by Aamir Khan under his banner Aamir Khan Films. To be directed by Mahesh Mathai, the biopic will go on floors by early 2018. Siddharth Roy Kapur 's last film as Disney India head was Dangal with Aamir Khan , which turned out to be the biggest film of Indian cinema. We hope their next collaboration, too, touches newer heights.

The second film to be made under RKF will again be a biopic. The untitled project will be based on a common man named Vijendra Singh who lost his wife Leela in the unfortunate Uttarakhand floods. Presumed death, Leela was found by Vijendra after a massive search of 19 months across 1000 villages, according to reports. Sources reveal that Kapur has bought the rights of the story and work on the script will begin soon.

The third film by RKF banner will be based on a book. To be directed by Dangal fame Nitesh Tiwari , the film will trace the inspiring journey of young entrepreneur, author and filmmaker Varun Agarwal who co-founded Alma Mater, wrote ‘How I Braved Anu Aunty and also co –founded A Million Dollar Company.
