Sonam Kapoor Keen to attend the Neerja Bhanot Bravery Awards

Actress Sonam Kapoor is keen to attend the Neerja Bhanot Bravery Awards held in Chandigarh.

After winning hearts with her princess act in Salman Khan 's ' Prem Ratan Dhan Payo ', the 'Khoobsoorat' actress Sonam Kapoor will be next seen in a biopic movie named ' Neerja '. It is a known fact that the film is based on the life of late air hostess Neerja Bhanot who lost her life while saving the lives of hijacked passengers on PanAm flight in Karachi in 1986. The courageous Neerja posthumously received The Ashok Chakra, the highest civilian award for bravery. Neerja became the youngest recipient of this award.

Sonam is keen to attend the Neerja Bhanot Bravery Awards Event, held in Chandigarh, India. These bravery awards are held on January 13th, each year to felicitate an Indian woman subjected to social injustice, who faces the situation with grit and determination and extends help to other women in similar distress. The person is honoured with a cash prize of `1.5 lakh, a citation and a trophy. Sonam will be accompanied by the director of the film Ram Madhwani and producer Atul Kasbekar for the event.
