Tabu recreates the past as she plays herself in Dutt’s biopic!

Rajkumar Hirani and team are working hard for the upcoming film, Sanjay Dutt’s biopic which is an ambitious project. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Dutt and the actor has completely transformed himself for the role. The leaked pictures from the sets are a proof of the same. The movie has an extensive cast playing varied roles. Sanjay Dutt has a huge fan following and his life story is no less than a rollercoaster ride. Apart from several other names associated with the film, now the makers have revealed that National award-winning actress Tabu will be a part of the film and play herself!

According to a leading daily, “Tabu will be seen presenting an award for the best actor in a comic role to Ranbir, who plays Dutt in the movie. In real life too, Sanjay had won the same award for Munna Bhai MBBS in 2004 and Tabu had presented the trophy to him back then. The same scene has been recreated for the film.” For the scene, Tabu wore the same replica of the peach coloured Salwaar Kameez and red dupatta she wore back in 2004 when she presented the award to Dutt.

The biopic will be focusing on three decades of Sanjay’s life. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, it also stars Sonam Kapoor, Dia Mirza and Manisha Koirala in pivotal roles. The film is currently in the shooting phase.
