John Abraham’s forthcoming film Parmanu: The Story Of Pokhran has been creating a lot of buzz ever since the project went on floors last year. Since the film is based on one important chapter of our rich history, the excitement around the film is justifiable. According to insiders, producers Prernaa Arora, Arjun N Kapoor, and John Abraham are very keen to show the film to honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi before the release. They are even planning a special screening for PM. A source close to the project reveals, “Since this film has a tremendous political relevance even today, John and his producer Prernaa Arora are very keen to show Parmanu: The Story Of Pokhran to the Prime Minister.”
Veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha, who is also a BJP leader, says that these kinds of films should be tax-free so that they could reach out to maximum people. “A film that opens up a crucial chapter from India’s political history must be given support and encouragement. Such films should be granted tax exemption so that the message and statement reach out to the widest possible audience," said Shatrughan.
Directed by Abhishek Sharma, Parmanu: The Story Of Pokhran is based on the nuclear bomb test explosions conducted by the Indian Army at Pokhran in the year 1998. The film, which also stars Diana Penty and Boman Irani, is set to release on 23rd February.
