Mishra’s political film has more than just Dev Babu, Paro and Chandramukhi, the latest poster says a lot more. Read the full story.
Many filmmakers have adapted the Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's classic novel, ‘Devdas’, and showed their respective versions on the big screen. After 101 years, director Sudhir Mishra is showing his version of the legendary novel, but it has nothing to do with the classic story. Mishra’s version is titled ‘Daas Dev’ and it’s a satirical take on the modern day Indian politics. The filmmaker released the latest poster of the film and concreted his take on the story by reflecting the Indian politics in the Desi Mount Rushmore style. In the new poster, we can see the leads, Rahul Bhat, Aditi Rao Hydari and Richa Chadha but what’s more intriguing is the sculpted faces of the supporting cast. The supporting cast includes Saurabh Shukla, Vipin Sharma, Anurag Kashyap and Vineet Singh. Made under the banner of Saptarishi Cinevision Production, ‘Daas Dev’ is scheduled to hit the screens on 9th March 2018.
In the past, a total of 16 movies have been made based on the novel in Bengali, Hindi, Assamese, Telugu, Tamil, and Urdu languages. The novel was published a century back, i.e. in 1917 and the first movie based on the novel was made in 1928.
Mishra's ‘Daas Dev’ stars Richa Chadda as Paro, Aditi Rao Hydari as Chandni (Chandramukhi) and Rahul Bhat as Dev (Babu). And apart from the above mentioned supporting cast, Dalip Tahil, Yogesh Mishra, Anil George and Deepraj Rana will also be seen in pivotal roles.
