It is kind of an irony that for the most general audiences, Tigmanshu Dhulia known for his acting tryouts rather than his filmmaking skills. But the multitalented filmmaker was recently in the news as it was revealed that he will be playing Shah Rukh Khan's father in the yet to be titled film project of Aanand L Rai, everyone was amazed to know that. And since he is out promoting his upcoming film Raag Desh, he has been asked more about the role in the film and, he was quite open about it told his reason for accepting this role!
Dhulia went on and said, “I do very few films as an actor but when a filmmaker friend feels that I can do justice to the certain role and when I need some money then only I do a film. It’s a very technical film in which SRK is playing a character of a dwarf so I wanted to see how it is made because when Kamal Hassan, in Appu Raja, did it and that time he did that with folded legs and VFX facility also wasn’t even available.”
The filmmaker showed his acting talent in many films like Hero, Manjhi - The Mountain Man, Shahid, Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster, but his role of Ramadhir Singh in Gangs of Wasseypur was more iconic than anything. Since he’ll also be playing a role of a father, it would be interesting to see how the role turns out to be. This untitled film casts Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma, Katrina Kaif and is produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, Colour Yellow Productions Pvt Ltd. And the film will be released in 2018!
