
Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi all praises for Saamy's Akka Kuruvi
Majid Majidi said he is fully convinced that the Tamil remake has done justice to the original version.
Globally renowned Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi is all praises for director Saamy's upcoming film Akka Kuruvi (2022), which is a remake of his award-winning film Children of Heaven (1997).
Majidi recently watched the upcoming film and was deeply impressed by the actors and the entire team for putting up such a stellar show. He even sent a note praising their efforts and hard work.
Majid Majidi said he is fully convinced that the Tamil remake has done justice to the original version and it is as heart touching as the latter. He also mentioned about the film's music, which is composed by maestro Ilaiyaraaja.
In the note, Majidi expressed his desire to attend the pre-release event of the film if possible. He also shared his best wishes to the team and and wished them successful.
For starters, filmmaker Saamy who is known for controversial movies like Uyir and Mirugam is helming Akka Kuruvi. Based on the internationally acclaimed Iranian film Children Of Heaven, the film revolves around a brother and sister living in a poor family and their connection with a shoe. The film is slated to release on May 6.
