Karthi shares a major UPDATE on shooting of the sequel of his hit film ‘Kaithi’; Read to know more!

Karthi who had two successful hits including Ponniyin Selvan I and Sardar is gearing for the release of his next film Japan.

The success of his flicks Sardar and Ponniyin Selvan I have been a back-to-back triumph for actor Karthi. While the actor is gearing up for the release of his next film, Japan, he also eagerly anticipates the audience's response to his forthcoming sequels. Concerning Kaithi 2 and its director Lokesh Kanagaraj, he is extremely optimistic. The actor recently recalled how the project began as a tiny notion that grew into one of the biggest blockbusters of 2019.

Karthi on how Kaithi became one of the biggest films

“Unquestionably one of the most significant movies in my career is Kaithi. Although it started out as a modest thought, the instant I heard it, I realised it was going to be a massive action movie. Dilli, the main protagonist, was created after much research. I believe his appearance had to be as straightforward and unassuming as he could be given that he was now the officers' saviour. We learned from our research that inmates don't like to draw attention to themselves, thus they never talk or look someone in the eyes. Since they were born between walls, their only link to nature is the sky.”

Kaithi 2 shooting to start next year?

Talking about the sequel, Karthi said, “Kaithi is a highly memorable movie, and I'm delighted that's how it came out. The action in the movie, the choreography, the directing, the music, and the emotional components all contributed to this. I can confirm that a sequel is planned, and ideally filming will begin next year.”

Kaithi 2's script is currently being written by Lokesh Kanagaraj. With Kaithi, a series of crime movies featuring a number of major stars began. With the Kamal Haasan-starring Vikram, he transformed the movie into a universe unto itself. On the other hand, Karthi’s Japan is slated to hit the theatres soon.
