Fans went crazy after the makers today officially revealed Ponniyin Selvan 2. The movie's producers, Lyca Productions, published a video on Twitter to reveal Ponniyin Selvan 2's release date. On April 28, 2023, PS 2 will open in theatres worldwide. The Cholas will make a comeback and claim to once more smash box office records. Ponniyin Selvan 2 Filming

Ponniyin Selvan's first and second installments were shot concurrently. It was stated that Mani Ratnam completed PS 1 and PS 2 filming in about 150 days. The audience was astounded—as was SS Rajamouli—by how fast and flawlessly the movie was finished. Although it was previously stated that filming for the sequel was also finished, recent sources indicate that the director chose to reshoot a few important parts. The Ponniyin Selvan 2 will reportedly shoot a few new scenes, and the shooting schedule is expected to last between 7 and 10 days.

The film was purportedly made on a massive budget of Rs 150 crores because the first and second parts were shot concurrently. It should be mentioned that the PS 1 satellite and over-the-top (OTT) rights were purportedly sold for a substantial sum as well. The streaming rights to Ponniyin Selvan were acquired by Amazon Prime Videos.
