Naga Chaitanya is currently working on his 23rd film, tentatively named ‘NC23’. The film is directed by Chandoo Mondeti, their third collaboration following ‘Premam’ in 2016 and ‘Savyasachi’ in 2018. Bunny Vas is producing the highly awaited film under the famed Geetha Arts brand.

According to the most recent update, Sai Pallavi of ‘Gargi’ fame has joined the cast of the film. The speculations arose after the Production House released a promotional video. The video showed the producers, director, and ‘Custody’ actor talking about the film with an unidentified woman, with the caption: "The widely adored and loved lady joins the voyage of NC23." Netizens reacted quickly, speculating that the actress whose face was obscured in the video montage was actually Sai Pallavi. According to sources, Chay and Chandoo Mondeti's third collaboration, ‘NC23’, has already began planning. For the same reason, the two went to Srikakulam's K Matchilesam hamlet. They met the local fisherman and learned about their land, culture, and way of life. According to rumours, Naga Chaitanya's character is a young man from a fishermen's village in a small Andhra Pradesh town.

Previously, the ‘Venky Mama’ actor had also spoken about the film, stating that he was thrilled for it as soon as he heard the script. He stated that the story is based on genuine occurrences, and that filming helped them comprehend the fishermen's lifestyle and body language, as well as the texture of the village.
