Samantha Ruth Prabhu to lead in a film produced by Taapsee Pannu?

Taapsee Pannu will next feature in the film Shabaash Mithu which is a biopic based on the life of cricketer Mithali Raj. Directed by Srijit Mukherji, the film is slated to release in theatres on July 15. According to reports, Taapsee is going to produce a film that will star South actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead role.

In the interview, the Thappad actress spoke about becoming a producer for the film Dhak Dhak. She also mentioned her project with Samantha saying, “There is something that we are working together on. We will announce what it is very soon. But yes, we are working on something together. I will be producing it”

When the actress was asked if she will be seen acting in the film too, she replied, “If there is a part in it that I can do, then I would, but she (Samantha Ruth Prabhu) is going to be leading it,” says Taapsee, adding that she is very excited about producing the project. “There is a different kind of excitement.”

Further, the actress revealed her joy and excitement for Dhak Dhak which stars Ratna Pathak Shah, Dia Mirza, Sanjana Sanghi, and Fatima Sana Shaikh. “When I see Dhak Dhak’s everyday call sheet, everyday pictures, and videos from the location, there is a different childlike excitement in me to see that happening. It feels like, how you feel it’s your baby kind of a feeling, it feels like that only. So, it's a different kind of excitement when I assess Dhak Dhak,” elaborated the 34-year-old actress.

Apart from Shabaash Mithu, Taapsee will also feature in the film Dunki with Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan. The film is slated to release on December 23, 2023.
