Big Magic has decided to pull the plug on its historical drama show Akbar soon. Starring Abhishek Nigam as the lead character, the show will beam its last episode on 29 June. Launched under the banner of Shashi Sumit Production with much fanfare, the show has been low on the TRP charts since the very beginning. The makers tried to spice it up by adding new tracks, but nothing worked in its favour. So, now the channel has decided to end its run. Associate producer Sheetal Somani confirmed the news.

Akbar is a historical drama that traces the imposing journey of Emperor Akbar from his childhood to becoming one of the greatest emperors of the world. It also throws light on various unknown facts of the great emperor. The lead actor of the show, Abhishek Nigam is quite upset that the show is going off air. Talking to an entertainment portal, he says, “Akbar was my first show and I learnt a lot while shooting for it. It’s very painful for me as it is now going off air.” On being asked about his future plans, the actor reveals, “I will be playing the role of teenage Krishna in &TV’s ‘Paramavatar Shri Krishna’, so I’m very excited about it right now.”

We at BollywoodMBD.com wish all the very best to Abhishek for his new show on &TV.
