As per the reports, It's Salman Khan who suggested Rajkummar Hirani about her. Because he was looking for a girl with a Punjab background who would be suitable for the role, they even got in touch with the actress team for the same. Salman Khan hinted at it on the Show to Priyanka by saying he has something for her. Was he really talking about the film, Dunki?

Reports also suggest that the significant role is short but will impact the audience. The film Dunki is about the illegal immigration of Punjabis in countries like Canada and the USA. Priyanka opted for the role because of her strong dialect in Punjabi, as she belongs to Chandigarh. The audience has seen her acting skills.
