This weekend, on The Kapil Sharma Show's new year special, Kapil Sharma will host his fellow comedians Zakir Khan, Kusha Kapila, Anubhav Singh Bassi, and Abhishek Upmanyu. The episode's teaser has the entire cast discussing their humorous encounters while recalling the day they told their parents about their professional choices.

Zakir and Abhishek share tidbits about their lives

In the teaser, Kapil Sharma asks them how their parents reacted to their becoming comedians. According to Abhishek Upmanyu, he didn't tell his parents until he got his first paycheck. He pointed to how he displayed the cash to his family and remarked, "Ye dekh rahe ho" (can you see this). Then Anubhav Singh Bassi describes how he exposed his parents to other comedians and what they thought of it. His parents pointed at Abhishek and said, "Don't do what he is doing. Ye to mat karo jo ye kar raha hai." Zakir Khan continued by offering his own perspective, drawing applause from the audience. He remarked, "I suppose parents are not against your passion, they just can't see you as poor."
