Nation’s favorite girl Shehnaaz Gill opens up on how she dealt with the grief after Sidharth Shukla’s death

After appearing together on perhaps the most popular season of Bigg Boss, the 13th season, Shehnaaz Gill and Sidharth Shukla, aka Sidnaaz, rose to fame as one of the most adored couples on Indian television. Their fan base continued to grow even after the event had concluded, and they continued to receive a tonne of support from the audience. As a result, the tragic death of Sidharth last year came as a major shock to both the country and the Sidnaaz fanbase. The actress discussed coping with sadness and how it only strengthened her in a recent interview.

The actor-singer said, “Duniya ke aage roge to log bolenge sympathy gain kar rahe (The world will feel I am trying to gain sympathy if I would cry in front of them). People would consider you weak and I never want to come across as one. However, I have never tried to hide my emotions. I dealt with it myself and I am fine with it absolutely.” She also added how she has changed after last year’s incident saying, “I feel very strong today. Also, I think whatever happened has prepared me for everything. I have a belief that whatever will happen will be for the good for now.”

Shehnaaz Gill today enjoys a massive fandom across the globe. Shehnaaz's Bollywood debut film Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali starring Salman Khan, Pooja Hegde, Siddharth Nigam, Jassie Gill, and Palak Tiwari is scheduled for release this year. Shehnaaz has also joined the cast of the next comedy film directed by Rhea Kapoor, which also features Anil Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar.
