Chikoo Ki Mummy Durr Kei, which airs on Star Plus, has constantly been in news for getting axed due to falling TRPs. However, it turns out that all rumours were baseless as the channel has decided to introduce a 10-year-leap on the show to make it more exciting and improve ratings. Having said that, there is still a bad piece of news for the fans of the show as leading actors Paridhi Sharma and Himanshu Malhotra are quitting the show because of the leap.

Confirming the development, producer Nilanjana Purkayasstha told a publication, “It is already revealed how Chikoo (Vaishnavi Prajapat) is Nupur's (Paridhi Sharma) daughter and the mother knows about it. Now, there is no point dragging this track endlessly. After the revelation, we had to look at a new twist. It is important to explore the story of an older and grown-up Chikoo, who lives without her parents now.”

She added, “The show is taking a ten-year leap, which will see Chikoo in college now. The track will focus on how she wants to become a dancer and achieve her dreams and goals. The leap will happen around Valentine's Day. There will be a new love angle in the show and new leads, who are yet to be finalised.”

When Paridhi Sharma was contacted, she said, “There were talks of a leap, but I am not aware if it is happening. I am still a part of the show as of now and shooting for it as usual.”
