Sarabhai V/S Sarabhai: Rajesh Kumar Reveals 8 Hours Of Audition For Iconic 'Rosesh' Character; Says, ‘I Didn’t Understand…’

Actor Rajesh Kumar, known for his role as Rosesh in the iconic comedy show 'Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai,' recently shared insights into his character and how he discovered the iconic voice for it. The show, loved by many, catapulted the entire cast to fame, including Ratna Pathak Shah, Rupali Ganguly, Satish Shah, and Sumeet Raghavan, besides Rajesh.

During an interview with Rajshri Unplugged, Rajesh Kumar opened up about his journey as Rosesh. He mentioned “When Atish enacted the scene in front of me, everything just bounced over me. I asked him for 15 days to prepare for the role. For 15 days, I went out to find Rosesh. I didn’t understand what happened in those 15 days as I couldn’t find anyone. When I went for the audition, I started it at two in the afternoon and it went on till 10 at night. My audition went on for eight hours.” Despite the challenge, he remained determined to give his best in the audition.

The interesting revelation came when Rajesh shared how he stumbled upon Rosesh's distinctive voice. While experimenting with various options, he found the perfect voice in the echo of his small bathroom at home. The echo provided the treble he needed, and he began speaking to everyone in that voice to master it.
