Tanvi Thakkar on replacing Yamini Malhotra in Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin

Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin is currently one of the most successful shows on Indian television. It has been a top performer on TRP charts for several weeks now, and all the actors working on the show have become household names in the country.

Actress Tanvi Thakkar is the latest addition to the cast of Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin. She has replaced actress Yamini Malhotra in the role of Shivani Chavan.

A publication recently got in touch with Thakkar and asked her what are the challenges and responsibilities that an actor faces after he or she replaces another actor on a show.

Responding to the question, the actress said, “Replacing an actor does come with a lot of responsibilities. The person who has earlier filled the shoes of the character has given the character a lot of herself and whatever character you play, you make it your own. With all due respect to the earlier actress who played the character of Shivani Chavan, I am giving a lot of ‘me’ to the character and I hope and believe that the viewers are liking it.”

When asked what led her to take up the show, Thakkar had earlier said, “Undoubtedly, the show is super successful but that’s not what led me to accept the offer. There is a little story behind this. I got a call from the production house on my father’s birthday. He is no more with us. I believed that it was a sign and that God and my father are blessing me and probably giving a gift to me in the form of this show. It was an emotional moment for me and hence I took it up. I believe in signs and anyway I am a little filmy and emotional in real life.”
