5 much-anticipated Bollywood remakes of hit Tamil films

Bollywood has been remaking successful South Indian films since the time immemorial. Remakes are a good way to tell a story with a fresh perspective while maintaining the authenticity of the original story intact. Just like every year, 2022 will see several hit Tamil films getting a remake in Bollywood. We have listed below the top 5 much-anticipated Bollywood remakes of Tamil films.

1. Master (2021)

Master, starring Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi, became a blockbuster in 2021 despite releasing in the times of the coronavirus pandemic. The film, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, will be made in Hindi with Salman Khan, as per reports.

2. Kaithi (2019)

Kaithi is an action-thriller film starring Karthi in the lead role. The film is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. It is being remade in Bollywood with Ajay Devgn. The Hindi remake of Kaithi has been titled Bhola.

3. Aruvi (2016)

Released in 2016, Aruvi is directed by Arun Prabu Purushothaman and features Aditi Balan in the lead role. The Bollywood remake will be directed by Eshwar Nivas and will star Fatima Sana Shaikh as the lead actress.

4. Soorarai Pottru (2020)

The film was directed by Sudha Kongara and starred Suriya and Aparna Balamurali in lead roles. The Bollywood remake will be produced by 2D Entertainment along with Abundantia Entertainment. Akshay Kumar has reportedly signed the film on the dotted line. An official announcement is highly awaited.

5. Vikram Vedha (2017)

Released in 2017, Vikram Vedha was a blockbuster which has attained cult status over the years. It had R. Madhavan, Vijay Sethupathi, and Shraddha Srinath in lead roles, and was directed by Pushkar-Gayathri. The Bollywood remake will star Hrithik Roshan as Vedha and Saif Ali Khan as Vikram. Pushkar-Gayathri direct the remake as well.
