In the midst of the pandemic, the advent of K-Dramas and their enormous popularity in India only confirms that excellent content resonates to a broad audience. Young Indians are flocking to study Korean as a result of their fascination with Korean pop culture, making it India's fastest growing language. Several B-Town celebrities also came forward and expressed their love for K dramas. A.R Rahman, Tiger Shroff, Ayushman Khurana and Disha Patani to name a few. Kabir Singh (2019) actress Kiara Advani recently hopped on the bandwagon and confessed her love for K dramas.
In a recent video, she revealed that she is a huge BLACKPINK fan as she promoted Disney + Hotstar. She saw one episode of Snowdrop and immediately got hooked on it. She also added that she has a crush on the BLACKPINK member Jisoo who is playing the lead role in the show.
She starts off the video by greeting her fans 'Hello everyone' in Korean language. She added, "From the time I have watched the first episode of Snowdrop on Disney+ Hotstar, it seems like the ‘K’ culture has taken over me. I was hooked on it from the opening song. This is one opening intro that I am definitely not going to skip and in the first 10 minutes showing Jisoo’s entry scene, wah wah wah. I was a big fan of her when she was singing and now her acting, I have become a superfan".
She further added, "The men in K-dramas - India’s Shah Rukh Khan and Korea’s Jung Hae-in are my official crushes now,"
Kiara captioned the video, “The only drama that I want in my life #Snowdrop, new episode every Wednesday on disneyplushotstar.
On the work front, Advani is gearing up for her next release Jugg Jugg Jeeyo opposite Varun Dhawan. Directed by Raj Mehta, the movie also stars Anil Kapoor, Neetu Singh and Prajakta Koli in the key roles.
