Shekhar Kapur and Suparn Verma to direct the first instalment of Amish Tripathi’s Shiva Trilogy
The Immortals of Meluha is the first book of Amish Tripathi, it’s also the first book of the Shiva Trilogy set in the land of Meluha.
International Art Machine acquired the rights of Tripathi’s Shiva trilogy and is ready to kick start the series adaptation of the Trilogy. It’s also said that Karan Johar bought the rights of the book in 2012 although it never made it to the big screen as he feared repercussions. The first book The Immortals of Meluha will be adapted into a digital show and is set to be directed by Shekhar Kapur along with the talented Suparn Verma.
Tripathi while expressing his excitement said, “I loved the reimagining and the world-building involving two of my favourite gods! The scale of vision and the ambition of our show visually and emotionally is a huge task but we want to bring to audiences a vision that has never been seen before on screens.”
International Art Machine is backed by Roy Price, who is aiming to produce innovative content to global audiences. “We are entering a new peak era for Asian original cinema and television. Everything we do supports that vision. India in particular,” said the former president of Amazon studios.
