Thalapathy Vijay and Lokesh Kanagaraj are collaborating for the second time since the blockbuster movie Master in 2021. Last year, they revealed their new project, Leo. According to reports, Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt has been cast as the film's antagonist.
According to reports, Sanjay Dutt portrays the villain, but there's a twist. The veteran of Bollywood will also become a father. According to a source quoted in the article, “Though the character is modelled as a father on paper, it’s essentially a gangster role. Both Sanjay and Thalapathy Vijay will be seen as a gangster in the film and share a unique dynamic in Leo.” Although the specific plot of the two is unknown, the gangster twist appears to be comparable to The Godfather and Peaky Blinders.
Thalapathy Vijay, on the other hand, will play a criminal in his 40s who runs a chocolate factory in Kashmir, away from the realm of gang fights. According to the report's source, “The plot has all the ingredients of a Lokesh Kanagaraj film – with all the elevation scenes, action blocks and high-octane drama. The inter-character conflicts are said to be one of the major highlights.”
Leo, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is set to be completed by mid-July and will be released on October 19, 2023. The Vijay and Sanjay Dutt starrer will be a major Pan India release, as is the fashion these days. The producers plan to sell aggressively in Hindi belts.
Meanwhile, Lokesh Kanagaraj and superstar Rajinikanth are collaborating on 'Thalaivar 171'. A film featuring Vijay and Venkat Prabhu is supposedly in the works and will be released in September or October of this year.
