Chamkila: Diljit Dosanjh’s No-Turban LOOK Steals The Show; Recalls The Time When He Swore ‘No-Turban, No-Movie’
Diljit Dosanjh wore a look devoid of a turban, challenging his no-turban, no-movie rule in 'Chamkila.'
In the teaser for 'Chamkila,' Diljit Dosanjh astounded everyone with a new appearance. When appearing in the movie based on the life of artist Amar Singh Chamkila, the Punjabi singer stunned the crowd by donning no turban. The actor had to remove his turban in order to perform the major role in the Imtiaz Ali movie. He has turned down Bollywood films because he cannot remove his turban, which serves as a symbol of who he is. The actor-singer has been in a number of Punjabi and Hindi films, but this is the first one in which he is shown without a pagg, or pagadi as it is known in Punjabi.
The film also stars Parineeti Chopra, Diljit Dosanjh portrays Amar Singh Chamkila. The singer's appearance without a turban drew a lot of attention when Netflix posted the preview on social media. While some people were shocked to see him in a new outfit, others disagreed with his main concept of wearing a turban at all times. This poked fun at an earlier interview in which he claimed it was hard to make a movie without a turban. In fact, he turned down a lot of Bollywood films.
Diljit Dosanjh stated in a previous interview during the 'Soorma' movie promotion that he is very picky about the films he chooses to view and only takes on roles that allow him to wear his turban. Diljit stated that he doesn't act in many Hindi films because he hasn't been given any serious offers. Even his favourite directors have approached him with offers, but he turned them down since the actor-singer would have to forgo his turban. According to Diljit Dosanjh, wearing a turban is an essential part of who he is and what he feels.
