In addition to being one of the top filmmakers in the nation, Karan Johar also owns one of the biggest production companies in the industry. The producer-director recently appeared on a podcast where he discussed the movie industry and how his business has developed.

KARAN JOHAR TALKS ABOUT HIS FRIEND APOORVA

On the fourth day following the passing of Yash Johar, a family friend gave Karan a letter from his father that contained all the information regarding the finances, including cash and bank account information. Karan claimed that prior to his father's death, he was completely ignorant of the finances. Even a list of persons he should and should not trust was included in the letter. That letter was used as a bible by Karan. Later, he called Apoorva Mehta, a boyhood buddy who had moved here from London and left his entire life behind. Due to the fact that Apoorva monitors all of his spending, even his personal costs, Karan admitted that he is extremely afraid of her.

In thi podcast, KJo disclosed that even though "Student Of The Year" made over 70 crore at the box office, he still lost roughly 15-20 crore because he spent a lot of money making the movie. Later, when they collaborated with the actors to create "Badrinath Ki Dulhania," "2 States," "Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania," and "Hasee Toh Phasee," the losses were made up. To make up for the loss of "Student Of The Year," the director struck a three-film deal with the actors who were already well-known.

KARAN AND SHAH RUKH KHAN ARE VERY CLOSE FRIENDS

They have produced a number of box office successes, but they are also renowned for leaving their fans speechless whenever they get together or discuss one another.
