Mahesh Bhatt the OG ‘Aashiqui’ director comments on Kartik Aaryan’s next; says ‘Soar high’

The announcement
Kartik Aaryan elated his fans with the news that he will soon star in the romantic film ‘'Aashiqui 3'. The film will be directed by Anurag Basu and bankrolled by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and Vishesh Films. Kartik in a recent interview shared that "The timeless classic ‘Aashiqui’ is something I grew up watching, and working on ‘Aashiqui 3’ is like a dream come true. I feel privileged yet grateful for collaborating with Bhushan Kumar and Mukesh Bhatt for this opportunity. I’ve been a big fan of Anurag Basu’s work and collaborating with him on this one will definitely shape me in many ways.”
The ‘Aashiqui’ films
In 1990, Mahesh Bhatt directed the film titled ‘Aashiqui’. It starred Anu Aggarwal and Rahul Roy. In 2013, ‘Aashiqui 2’ was directed by Mohit Suri and starred Aditya Roy Kapur opposite Shraddha Kapoor.

Mahesh Bhatt the director of the first film in a recent interview spoke about the new announcement. On the announcement of ‘Aashiqui 3,’ Mahesh Bhatt said, “My heartiest Congratulations to Bhushan Kumar for taking the Aashiqui franchise to the next level. You are truly a worthy son of a worthy father. Gulshan Ji was a visionary. I was very fortunate to birth this great franchise with his support. The baton is now in your hand, Bhushan. Soar high!”
