In a recent interview with Bollywood Bubble, Malaika Arora opened up about her decision to divorce Arbaaz Khan. The ex-couple got married in 1998 and divorced in 2017. They have a son, Arhaan, together.
While opening about the divorce, Malaika said, “All these thoughts went through my head and I think that probably, for me, was my lowest point in life. I would definitely say that it was such a huge upheaval in my life and such a change for me to deal with because it was not just me personally, there were families involved, there was my kid involved, there were just so many other aspects involved.”
"My decision was going to impact all the lives around me, and when I say mine, I mean, at the end of the day, we were two people. It was a couple, we were husband and wife, and together, we decided that this was what was best, but it was definitely the most difficult, the lowest phase in my life,” Malaika added further.
When earlier Malaika appeared as a guest on Kareena Kapoor’s talk show, she shared how people warned her about the decision. She said, “Everyone suggested I don't do it; 'no one is going to say that your decision is right, so don’t go for it’. Even the night before I got divorced, my family asked me, ‘Are you sure about your decision?’ But I think people who care for you will definitely be worried about you.”
