R Madhavan on North vs South debate: ‘There’s a lot of hue and cry happening’
The 1st of July will see the theatrical debut of R Madhavan's film, Rocketry: The Nambi Effect.

R Madhavan is one of the most talented actors in Indian cinema. Before pan-Indian films became a rage, he was one of the few actors who made their presence felt in Tamil and Hindi cinema. The actor is currently preparing for the release of Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, his feature film debut as a director. In a recent interview, the 3 Idiots (2009) actor gave his two cents on the North vs. South debate, formula movies, and other topics.
The debate between the North and the South has become common after the popularity of RRR (2022), KGF 2 (2022), and Pushpa: The Rise (2022). Many stars have voiced their opinions on the topic, including Akshay Kumar, Kamal Haasan, and Ajay Devgn.
Now, Madhavan gave his opinion on the North vs. South debate, saying, "I think too much hue and cry is happening. There are three films - RRR, KGF 2, and Pushpa - that did really well. The rest have managed to do a fair job. There are other films (The Kashmir Files and Bhool Bhulaiyaa) in Hindi that have done well. I think people's acceptance has broadened because of the pandemic. They accept films that they like and reject those they don't. That's always going to be there."
"Finding a formula there is not possible. I think the weak ones are trying to see a pattern in it. The idea is to make films that are aspirational enough to bring the audience to the theatres,” stated the 52-year-old actor.
Rocketry: The Nambi Effect will hit the theatres on 1st July, 2022.
