Salman Khan to return as Chulbul Panday in Dabangg 4?

Buzz has it that superstar Salman Khan is set to reprise his popular character of Chulbul Pandey once again in Dabangg 4, the fourth installment of the highly successful Hindi film franchise Dabangg (2010).

Filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia, who is known for helming such notable films as Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster (2011), Paan Singh Tomar (2012), and Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster Returns (2013), is currently working on the script of Dabangg 4.

Spilling some more beans, a source close to the development tells a publication, “Tigmanshu has been working on the script for Dabangg 4 for more than a year now, and a narration will take place next year. Salman is impressed with the basic idea and vision that Tishu has for Dabangg franchise, as the entire team is looking to bring in a fresh approach to the iconic character of Chulbul Pandey. A final call on other nitty-gritty’s of Dabangg 4 will be taken once the script narration takes place. At this point of time, it’s work on progress as it’s too early to confirm the other aspects of the project.”

Both Salman Khan and producer Arbaaz Khan are of the opinion that Dhulia is the perfect choice for Dabangg 4 as he is familiar with the heartland of India. “If Chulbul Pandey continues to be a cop or enters the world of politics is something we would know once the script is locked,” the source adds.

For those not in the know, Dhulia had narrated a script to Khan in 2015 as well. However, things did not fall into place back then and the project never took off. We hope history doesn't repeat itself once again.

Meanwhile, Salman Khan is busy with Yash Raj Films’ Tiger 3He will next move on to shoot Sajid Nadiadwala’s Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali. The superstar has also confirmed starring in sequels to his hit films No Entry (2005) and Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015).
