Sara Ali Khan to play freedom fighter in Karan Johar's OTT film Ae Watan Mere Watan
Produced by Karan Johar's Dharmatic Entertainment, the OTT release is based on the backdrop of Quit India movement.

Sara Ali Khan, who was last seen in Aanand L Rai's Atrangi Re, will feature in Karan Johar's OTT film Ae Watan Mete Watan. This was confirmed by Sara's Coolie No. 1 co-star Varun Dhawan.
The Amazon Original movie will go on floors by the end of this month. As per reports, Sara will be seen in the role of a brave-hearted freedom fighter in the fictional drama, which is based against the backdrop of Mahatma Gandhi's call for Quit India in 1942.
Ae Watan Mere Watan is written by Darab Farooqui and Kannan Iyer and will be directed by the latter. A Dharmatic Entertainment Production, the OTT release will be is produced by Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta, alongside Somen Mishra serving serving as co-producer.
On work front, Sara Ali Khan will next feature in Laxman Utekar's as-yet untitled next opposite Vicky Kaushal. She will also star in Gaslight alongside Vikrant Massey.
