Box Office: R Madhavan's Rocketry & Aditya Roy Kapur's Rashtra Kavach Om have weak opening weekends
In their first week of release, Rocketry: The Nambi Effect and Rashtra Kavach Om are still the second- and third-most popular films, respectively.

The two brand-new movies that debuted this week, Rocketry: The Nambi Effect (2022) starring R. Madhavan & Rashtra Kavach Om (2022), starring Aditya Roy Kapur and Sanjana Sanghi, performed poorly at the box office. Rashtra Kavach Om made roughly Rs. 1.25 cr nett on Day 1 whereas Rocketry: The Nambi Effect made Rs. 75 lakh nett on Day 1 in Hindi. While Rocketry saw a solid 65 percent increase on day 2, Rashtra Kavach Om saw a decline in sales. On Sunday, both movies saw growth, but Om's growth lagged below Rocketry's.
The Aditya Roy Kapur starrer has done greater business on single screens in UP and Bihar. Despite being a Tamil film originally, the R Madhavan-directed movie hasn't had much success in the Tamil Nadu region. The movie's opening, though, was superior to that of larger Tamil films like Valimai (2022), Beast (2022), and Vikram (2022), but all were Hindi-dubbed.
The nett box office collections for this week’s releases are as follows:-
Rashtra Kavach Om:
Day 1 – Rs. 1.25 cr
Day 2 – Rs. 1.20 cr
Day 3 – Rs. 1.40 cr
Day 4 – Rs. 80 lakh
Total – Rs. 4.65 cr
Rocketry: The Nambi Effect:
Day 1 – Rs. 75 lakh
Day 2 – Rs. 1.25 cr
Day 3 – Rs. 1.85 cr
Day 4 – Rs. 75 lakh
Total – Rs. 4.60 cr
While Shah Rukh Khan and Suriya appeared in special cameos in Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, Rashtra Kavach OM also stars Jackie Shroff, Prakash Raj, Ashutosh Rana, and Prachee Shah in significant roles.
