Made on a heavy budget of Rs. 190 cores, including P&A, Sanjay Leela Bhansali ’s ‘ Padmaavat ’ is doing a lavish business at the box office. The film stars Deepika Padukone , Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh in the lead roles and looks like the controversies around it have not affected its business to any major extent. Till Saturday, the film had managed to earn 83 crores but yesterday’s collections are just astonishing. Despite being banned in 4 major states across the country, the magnum opus pocketed 31 crores with ease, taking the grand total to Rs. 114 crores. Bhansali’s film needs to earn more than 300 crores to turn into a successful venture and looking at its performance, the goal doesn’t look any far.
