Ittefaq is stable on first Monday at the box-office!

Sonakshi Sinha, Akshaye Khanna, and Siddharth Malhotra starrer suspense thriller Ittefaq has been making news for all the right reasons. The film witnessed a decent first-weekend collection and now has seen a fair Monday. The movie is about a high profile double murder case involving two prime suspects who have very different stories to tell. The story is for a niche audience and has an intriguing plot.
The film made Rs. 4.05 crores on its opening day, it further raked in Rs. 5.50 crores on Saturday, and Rs. 6.50 crores on Sunday. The film passed the Monday test by making Rs. 2.25 crores. Hence, the total collection stands at Rs. 18.30 crores at the domestic front. It is competing with Kalki Koechlin, Sumeet Vyas’s film Ribbon that also released on the same day.
Red Chillies Entertainment and Dharma Productions collaborated for the film which is an official remake of 1969 film of the same name, directed by late Yash Chopra. The makers are not expecting it to be a money spinner but a good content film that will find its audience. The thriller is directed by Abhay Chopra, and the murder mystery carries a positive word of mouth by the viewers and critics alike.
