Neeraj Pandey’s Aiyaary had a slow start on the first day at the box office!

Neeraj Pandey’s multi-starrer Aiyaary, which was earlier slated to clash with Akshay Kumar’s Pad Man on 09th February, got delayed by a week and released yesterday. Even though the film got the solo release, it couldn’t manage to make a mark at the box office. Despite the only big release of the week, the Manoj Bajpayee and Sidharth Malhotra starrer Aiyaary managed to earn only Rs. 3.36 crores. Though the budget of the film is Rs. 27 crores, it had a dull opening and could manage just more than 10% of the total cost on its opening day.

The movie is an espionage action-thriller which failed to give the previous Neeraj Pandey touch. The multi-starrer had a huge star cast that includes, Siddharth Malhotra, Manoj Bajpayee, Rakul Preet, Pooja Chopra, Adil Hussain, Kumud Mishra, Naseeruddin Shah, Anupam Kher, Vikram Gokhale and many other cameos.

Aiyaary earned lower than Sidharth’s previous two films. His last two films, Ittefaq and A Gentleman, earned Rs. 4.05 crores and Rs. 4.04 crores respectively on the first day.

Made under the banner of Friday Filmworks, Pen India Limited and Plan C Studios, the movie has to go a long way to turn itself into a profitable venture.
